[It was still early in the morning. Way too early, as far as Gold was concerned. Green saw fit to wake him from his slumber to prep for a camping trip. Seems like Green thinks it's a good idea to get away from the village and go on a camping trip for a while. At least until things blow over.

...Granted, Gold didn't think it was a bad idea at all, early awakening aside. He spent a lot of the early morning with his Senior, scoping out a proper spot and setting up tents, but there was another reason Green had chosen to work with Gold specifically, and it wasn't just because they both had fire Pokémon as their starters.

Gold had been functioning as the de facto leader of the Pokémon trainers in Luceti, having been there the longest and knowing the most about the world, he was tasked with getting everyone gathered up so they could go go go.]

[Filtered to all Pokémon trainers in Luceti, including those from the alternate worlds, as well as Masaomi, Hiccup, Shiemi, and Chien. Oh, and Frey and his sister too, because housemates]

So you guys all saw that announcement, right? I know you did, Silver. [He saw that note, boy. |8] About all the outsiders comin' into Luceti for a little vacation. [If you could call that a vacation.] Anyway, it's gonna get real cramped here real fast, so Senior Green thinks it's a good idea to get away from the village for a bit. 'Least until all this blows over!

So, we're gonna go camping! We've got a sweet spot scoped out at the southern lake and tents already pitched, so pack up and head out! Make sure to bring your valuables with you, too, at least if you wanna make sure you still have 'em when you come back!

[Following that announcement, before Gold heads back to the campsite himself, Gold might be found in the shops, gathering supplies for this trip, when he notices something odd about the whole thing.]
Say, is it just me, or is there less stuff in the shops than usual?

[Gold might run into more than one difficulty at the grocery store. Katara, Pepper, and Richard Sharpe have already started working on rations. And when Katara sees him going in looking like he's just about to start shopping, she has a question for him.]

What are you doing?

Excuse me.

[Pepper speaks up at almost the same time as Katara. It's got her almost in a state of disbelief, that someone is about to go shopping considering the situation they're in.

She nods toward Katara, then focuses on Gold.] What she said.

Well, considerin' I've got a list of supplies my group's gonna need to survive, I'd say I'm tryin' to get them. [And he walks past them to go towards the... graham crackers? An odd choice. If they look they might notice Gold's Ambipom standing near the door, carrying a box with a boiling pot and some flasks in it, among other things one would need for camping.]

[Katara does, in fact, notice Gold's Ambipom. She nods at it and then turns her attention to Gold.]

What are you talking about, Gold?

[She's not being overly confrontational here, she's just confused. She hadn't really expected this from him at all, she's not even angry yet.]

[Pepper is more focused on Gold at the moment, watching as he heads for one of the shelves.]

If you're talking about the situation with the refugees, and making sure everyone has food, we're working on that now.

[Pepper's a bit closer to being upset, but she's also professional. Keeping calm is the only way to effectively handle these situations.]

I know other people've got that under control, I'm not talkin' about that.

This village is about to get a ton more crowded, so my friends and I are gonna rough it in the forest until things settle down.

Really? [She's surprised.] That's too bad, I'm sure you guys could have helped...

[She trails off for a second and considers.]

How many of you are going out there? We can mark off your rations now so you can take what you need.

[She glances at Pepper.]

[Katara's familiarity with this person leaves Pepper more than willing to let her take the lead on dealing with him. When she makes the suggestion, Pepper quickly agrees.]

Right. We'll also need to know how many days you're planning for.

[Because the amounts for each ration would, by necessity, be smaller than most people are likely used to.]

Countin' our Pokémon? Uhh... Probably close to forty of us. [Do you understand why they think it's best to leave the village for now, Katara?] We'll probably be out there a week, but we're probably gonna come back to the village now and again to check on things.

[She frowns a little.]

Do you usually feed your Pokémon with stuff from the store?

[She thought they just ate things like other livestock - vegetables, fruit, grass, or meat.]

[Pepper is boggled by the number--and by the fact that they're talking about Pokémon, as in the little creatures from the games.

Luckily, Katara seems to be already aware of this. So Pepper lets the younger girl question Gold, and focuses on calculating how much that would be if the boy gets that much food.

It's a lot, under the circumstances.]

What else're you supposed to feed 'em? They're living creatures. They got all kinds of different tastes and preferences! [Gotta get that stuff from somewhere.]

Yeah, but I was never under the impression that you guys bought the stuff to feed them back home.

[She figured it was grown or something - but then. Welcome to Luceti.]

Anyway, you're going to have to work with the minimum amount possible if you want to withdraw that much before we've even had a chance to finish taking stock of what's here. If you want, you can always come back tomorrow.

That might actually be best. We'll have a much better idea of what's on hand then, along with how many people we're dealing with.

[Which was the other part of the problem. What's in this store plus what's being brought in have to last for an unknown duration for the Lucetians and the Kin'Corans alike. And apparently, also the pokémon.]

And just so you're aware, you may not be able to meet everyone's exact preferences either. It's more a matter of making sure people have something to eat, even if it isn't exactly what they want to eat.

We plan on livin' off the land for the most part, so not havin' much is fine. We just need enough for backup.

Well, if you guys can, that's probably for the best.

[She frowns a little, thinking.]

Just be careful with making sure you use all of what you kill, okay?
