[It was a fairly typical day in Luceti. The weather was starting to improve. Not by much yet, but it was improving. The snow had been starting to melt, it's steadily getting warmer...

...And people were starting to arrive in Luceti again. New faces, old faces, even long-forgotten faces. And on this particular day, it's the second of these that can be spotted passing through the village, as a boy with messy black hair in New Feather garb floats through the plaza seated atop... a strange flying white bird?]

Doesn't look like this place's changed a bit, huh, Togetaro? ...Oh, right, I guess you wouldn't know. Well, whatever! Come on, onward, in that direction! [He gives a forceful point in the direction of the shops. His memories were a bit fuzzy, but he thankfully remembered enough to know how to get back to the village and get his stuff.]

[After retrieving his things, Gold decides to hit up the journal.]

So, how long was I gone from this place? And you guys better not've given away my room, you hear me?

[It's interesting to know that he's taking all of this in stride. While Oak may not be in that position yet and for a while, he can't help but wonder how long Gold's been here in Luceti before his departure and second arrival. But he'll ask about that another time, since there are other more important things to discuss... like where Oak could stay as a permanent residence]

As for your room, it's currently vacant, so you don't have to worry about it being taken. However, I rather not inconvenience the rest living in House 11 by sleeping in Green's room. I know he means well, but if he's forced to sleep on the couch, then I would rather find another place to stay. Since I've yet to adapt to Luceti and know my surroundings well enough, I would like to have your assistance.... once you've settled in, of course.

Why don'tcha just move into the basement, then? It's pretty big, y'know! Big enough that you could probably get some kinda mock lab setup goin' on down there!

The basement... yes, that is a great idea! [You have no idea how much he missed having a lab. Since meeting Linda, he's been itching to do some research on Pokemon moves and how it can evolve into a stronger attack with training. Now with the proper materials, he can indeed have a research area suiting for his needs. It won't be as hi-tech as the one back in Pallet and Cherrygrove, but it's better than having nothing at all]

I just hope you don't mind sharin' the space with the Pokémon then. They've already laid claim to it.

Of course I don't mind. You know me better than that.

[Come on, Gold. He had Pokemon in his lab back home, so sharing space with them in the basement would be a walk in the park for him.]

Yeah, yeah, I follow. Anyway, I guess I'll see you at the house.

[Geez, he thinks a few years passed and it looked like nothing changed. Then he finds out it's just a few days and it looks like the place got turned topsy-turvy.]

Alright. And come into the kitchen when you do. I'm fixing breakfast for everyone.

[That's right. Professor Oak is cooking some food for the house. It's something for him to do to keep his mind off his current worries, that and he's pretty hungry himself. Hope you don't mind eating pancakes, because that's the menu for the day]

Great! Your cooking better be up to par then, Gramps, 'cause I'm dyin' for a meal right now! [And you better make him at least 20 pancakes.]

[He chuckled. Green and Daisy has yet received food poisoning or have died from his cooking in the past, so Gold should be alright.]

I should be done with your plate by the time you get here. [Though be prepared to get disappointed, since he's fixing everyone five pancakes each. He doesn't have enough mix to cook all 20 just for Gold]

Then I'll be there in a flash. [Because obviously the sooner he gets there the sooner it'll be ready.]

[By the time Gold arrives, he should see on the table a row of utensils and plates filled with pancakes, along with glasses filled with orange juice, a jar of syrup, and a stick of butter that's placed on a smaller plate. In the kitchen is Professor Oak, who's fixing himself a warm cup of coffee to start off the day. No one has come to eat their food yet, but Gold is free to start on his whenever he's ready to do so.]

[Gold practically comes crashing into the kitchen, having been able to smell those pancakes cooking. DAMN do those ever smell good.]

I'm here, I'm here!

[He was pouring his coffee into a mug when he heard Gold enter the kitchen, obviously ready to chow down on those pancakes. Good thing the Professor had finished cooking moments before his arrival or he would've been in for some disappointment]

Please take a seat and enjoy your meal. I'll be with you shortly.

Don't say another word! [He takes his seat at the table and hastily prepares his pancakes for consumption, slathering them in butter and syrup.]

[After filling his coffee into his cup, Oak made his way to the table to take a seat. He had made pancakes for himself as well, so he will be eating some along with Gold]

[No, you'll be eating, Professor Oak. Gold will be doing something more akin to attacking his food like a ravenous animal.]

[He can see that quite well... and continues to while still holding his fork with a piece of pancake in hand. Seriously Gold, have you been deprived of food for a week or is it that you haven't been taught any table manners?]

...Er, Gold. I suggest you slow down or you might choke on your food.

I'm fine, I'm fine! [He at least had the decency to swallow his food before saying that. ...And then stuffing his face with more food.]

[He shook his head before eating what was on his fork, chewing it and swallowing afterward before taking another bite. Despite Gold eating like an animal, he's glad to have him around. And he's sure the others feel the same way as well. But at the same time, he's in Luceti where you're faced with experiments, kidnappings, and wars. So why does it seem like he's welcoming this place with open arms?]

You seem to be quite happy being here.

Mmm... [He swallows a mouthful of pancake.]

I wouldn't really call it "happy", 'cause I'm not.

I doubt anyone is. [He says of the entire Luceti population, not knowing that there's a few who would rather be here than back in their world. He takes a sip of his coffee]

What would you call it, then?

Well, this place is an unpredictable hellhole, and I'd rather be home than here any day of the week. [He says that, waving and pointing his fork at Oak.]

...But I've made good friends here, and strengthened bonds with existing friends that I'd never really get the chance to otherwise. For me, that makes bein' stuck here worth the trouble.

Perhaps. I can't say the same quite yet, but maybe that will change in the future.

[Another sip from his cup and a bite of his pancake soon followed as he grew silent, wondering if he could manage being here for a couple of months or more. Already he's homesick and hoped that what Aang said would become a success rather than a failure. Not to mention what may come in the future, like drafts and experiments. He is afraid, but isn't willing to admit it out in the open]

It's better not to worry about whether something might or not turn out a certain way, Gramps. You can't live in fear of the future like that. Just live life here in the way that suits you best.
