[How long had it been? Gold wasn't entirely sure. The hours turned to days, and the days turned to weeks while he was in that place. He couldn't be sure how long he'd been gone or how long he was stuck in that stupid lab. All he could think about now was that he was back in the village.

Around him, he could hear the crashing of the waves against the shore. He could feel the coarse sand beneath his fingers as he laid sprawled out.]

The beach, huh... Man, to leave me with a vacation after that ordeal? You guys are so hospitable... [He mused to no one in particular, but really hoped that perhaps the Malnosso were listening.

Finding the strength to at least sit up, Gold grabs his journal that was conveniently nearby, to broadcast a message.]

Guess I'm back, guys. Hey, think I can get a hand or five here? I've never felt this sore in my whole life. It really kinda hurts to even move right now. [And that says a lot coming from a guy who gets blown up by dangerous beasts on a regular basis.

After that, he turns off his journal and just flops back on the sand. Yep, just gonna lay here.]

[Sometime after Gold's managed to make it home courtesy of some kind soul, learned about how half of his friends had gone home, and had some time to rest up, he's out and about in the village. Previously, this sort of thing would have hit him hard. He'dve become sulky and put-out over the thought of his friends leaving him behind. But he refuses to become like that again. He won't let despair consume him like it did last time. Feel free to run into him almost anywhere in the village. Common spots include the restaurant, the rec center, the battle dome, and his friends in community building one, but he'll be wandering in the village in general if none of those spots work.]



((ooc: Gold's mallynap effect is special. Remember in the games when you'd try to ride your bike indoors or try to use a key item that you weren't supposed to, only to get greeted by those lovely words from the Professor, "There's a time and place for everything! But not now." or something to that effect? Well, that's what's literally will happen to Gold. He has a nondescript voice in his head for the duration of the effect that, when he tries to do or say something, there's a possibility it may prevent him from doing it, telling him why, like "it's not time" or "you can't do that here" or something like that.

There's also a certain degree of reality warping to it. For instance, if he tries to go through a doorway to meet someone on the other side, and it tells him "this door is locked", then he isn't getting through, even if it's clearly open, and neither is anyone else, at least as long as he's in the area or until it decides that the door is now open!))

Hey, I don't pretend to get Senior Green's training methods. He's pretty nuts when it comes to that stuff. [He says that with an exasperated tone.]

That's one way of putting it, anyway.

[He doesn't dare ask what Gold's awareness or opinion is on when Green decided to flip his shit. He doesn't dare ask what the situation with his pokedex is. For one, both are selfish in the wake of this guy's best friend being gone. For two, he doesn't really want to know the answers. Instead, he just starts hoping two steps at a time to keep up as they get down towards the first floor]

But it doesn't really matter at this point, now does it?

[Gold gives a shrug. Once they're at the bottom of the steps, Gold heads out the door, turning in the direction of his house.]

Maaah, I suppose not.

[Thankfully, it's a pretty short walk.]

I've got my own plans for you, after all.

Aren't you forcing things, a little?

And what, do you expect me to be havin' some sort of emotional turmoil over him goin' back to where he belongs?

[Gold shoots Masaomi a smile, but it's one tinged with sadness.]

Sometimes, people go home. That's the nature of this place, y'know? If I spent all my time bein' sad over people leavin' this place, then I'd never be able to take a moment to appreciate what I've got.

[Not about everyone. Not everyone. But your best friend? Of course you would be out of sorts about them. And his eyes widen a little in spite of himself, and he looks taken aback]

[She he closes his eyes, plasters a smile on his face, and despite it not totally reaching his eyes when he opens them again, he just presses on]

Maaaah, now you're just trying to sound cool. At least it works.

[That smile spreads to a large grin, the sort one might typically expect from Gold.]

Ain't no "trying" involved here. I'm just naturally this awesome.

[He gives a shrug, as they reach the mansion-like house Gold calls home.]

Right, right! No arguments here.

[And here they are, it seems. ...Man this place is still big]

[It's not gonna be shrinking any time soon, Masaomi, so better get used to its size.

Opening the door, Gold steps inside, urging for Masaomi to follow him in. He may, of course, note that the house seems a lot quieter and emptier than it usually is. That's what happens when half the household goes home.

[Oh he does. But right now he's most focused on just following Gold and wondering where he is actually following it to]

[Gold leads Masaomi to Green's room. Or rather, what used to be Green's room. He walks up to the desk that was left there, opening one of the drawers, and fishes out a red device Masaomi may recognize.

A Pokédex.]

[...Well shit. Is he getting it back? Is Gold going to say something here to correct him? He's not sure what he should do or say here, but while he would reach out to get it... he knows better tan to. Just in case]

[Gold holds out the Pokédex for a moment.]

Like I said, I don't know what Senior Green's plans were for you, and I don't really care to find out. So I'm gonna give this back to you.

[And then he recalls his hand.]

...On one condition.

Yeah, what's that?

[Concisely, but... a little wary, like]

Nothin' too big! I just want you to answer a little question for me first. [Gold gives Masaomi a sly smirk.]

Uh huh, I'm following.

It's simple. I just wanna hear, in your own thoughts and words... [He points straight at Linda.] ...What Pokémon mean to you! [And now that finger trails up to Masaomi.]

[Linda looks briefly like she sort of wants to just whack the finger just because it's pointing at her before turning attentively to her trainer - or well, more like turning her head, given her position. Masaomi, though-]
