So it's that time of the month already, huh? Man, how time flies by. Seems like it was just a couple months ago we had new people showin' up, and now it's happening again! [A bit of crude humor on his part, as anyone who's been in Luceti for any decent length of time knows how often the New Feather cycles are.]

Aaaaanyway, I've got a bit of an announcement to make. [The feed shows a shot of him scratching his cheek as he ponders this announcement he's about to give.]

As I'm sure most of you remember, Hiccup went home some time ago, and he left behind a Pokémon I'd given him. [He shifts the camera to get a shot of Kyle, the three foot tall Fraxure.] I've been watchin' her for a while, but I'm thinkin' it's about time she found a new home--and a new trainer.

So! That's where you all come in! I'm lookin' for someone who'd seriously consider wantin' to be a Pokémon Trainer and be willing to keep raisin' ol' Kyle here. Any potential applicants'll be interviewed and schooled on what it takes, but only one'll get picked in the end! So who's it gonna be? One of you? Only one way to find out, right?

[The feed doesn't end there, though. The normal person would elect to set up a filter of some sort for this next part.

...Gold is not a normal person. Or maybe he's trying to draw attention to this part that should be a private thing. Who knows?]

[There's a frustrated sigh on her end.] Does it matter?

If you're gonna be difficult about it, then what's the point? I want you to want to go with me, not because of some stupid obligation or pride or anything like that.

[Well, this was unexpected.] No, I want to go out with you, really! [Of course, that's going to cause her some embarrassment.] I just meant it doesn't matter if it was hard or not. What matters is that I said yes. I'm just... embarrassed. You're the first person to ask me out.

[Man, Crys' first? He can't help but take some sort of pride in that idea. And yet he's pretty surprised. A pretty girl like Crys never having gone on a date before?]

Are you sure you just weren't too absorbed in your research to notice when guys were tryin' to flirt with you?

[... SHE'S ACTUALLY NOT SURE ON THAT because seriously, how do people flirt.] ... pretty sure, yes. [She thinks back to a few trainers who dropped by repeatedly, but Crys has no fucking clue.]

...Right. [He is having his doubts about that answer. Gold can admit (to himself, at least) that Crys is the kind of girl that totally could've had several boyfriends in her life by this point if she wanted to.]

Anyway, since we've got that settled, anywhere in particular you want to spend our first date at? [Take this opportunity to save yourself from something picked from Gold. You don't know what his crazy mind might cook up.]

[Now comes the hard part. If they were back home, there'd be plenty to do, but here? Options are a little more limited.] Um... maybe dinner? Like a picnic. [But there's one more thing that caught her attention.] "Our first date"?

[That makes it sound like there would be more, not that she would hate it.]

[A picnic, huh... A picnic, he can do. With some help from a certain Pokémon Connoisseur, that is.]

Yeah, "our first date". Y'know, as in the first one we've ever gone on? Unless we've been goin' on dates while I've been sleepin' all this time, that is.

--oh. [Well, this is awkward.] Right.

[QUICK, SUBJECT CHANGE.] When did you want to have it? [Because she needs to know when to ask for advice.]

Oh, well... The sooner the better, I say. Y'know, before some stupid draft or shift decides to rear its ugly head and screw everything up.

Hm. Does a week from today sound good?

Sounds fine to me.

Okay. [There's a pause, and then:] I'm... really looking forward to this, Gold.

[mischiefbreeder]

[You can't see it right now, Crys, because Gold cleverly sat the journal down and out of view of his face, but there's a blush forming right now.]

...Y-yeah, me too. It'll be great, just you wait!

[kickingcatcher]

[That's okay, she's trying to hide her own blush, too.] Not a doubt in my mind that it will be.

[Unless shit happens and they have to cancel.]
