[Near House 15, the Orphanage, a card table has been set up. Seated at one end of the table is Gold, shuffling a standard deck of playing cards. When someone comes near the table, Gold shouts out, in order to grab their attention:]

Come one, come all! Take a seat and play a game! Bet as much or as little as you want, you just might strike it big today! We got Blackjack and Poker here, so it's your choice! You might just become Luceti's next millionaire today!

[Is that person you today? Be warned, for Gold is a skilled gambler with far too much luck on his side for a kid.

Of course, the other residents of the orphanage might just have to wonder what the hell Gold's up to today.]

((ooc: Okay, so here's how it'll work. I found a random card generator, so I'll be using that to deal out hands fairly. Games will proceed according to standard rules for that game.Feel free to threadjack and have games with more than two players if you want!))

Check it out! [He holds up the jar of cash, which contains an indiscernible-but-clearly-a-lot amount of money in it by now.]

[Huh. That is impressive. Well if there's one thing to say about Gold it's that when he schemes, at least he does it right.]

Heh. Looks like you've made a killing.

[mischiefbreeder]

Yep. What can I say? What I do, I do well.

[He reaches into the jar and pulls out a bit of change, tossing it to Shikamaru.]

If you run into the knucklehead somewhere, give that back to him and tell him maybe next time, he'll learn not to challenge his bro at cards.

So generous. I'll pass it on when I see him. Bound to run into him eventually.

[But he's sticking around for now. He has a prank to pull, much as he's tried to talk himself out of it.] Interested in making up for the loss?

[He digs into a pocket and pulls out a wad of bills crumpled together, peeling the Luceti equivalent of a five from it and stuffing the rest back. He tosses the bill on the table.]

I like poker over blackjack.

Alright, then! I had a feeling you wouldn't be able to resist! [Shuffling the deck now!]

Sounds like more fun than walking around some more.

[If there's a chair, he's pulling it out to sit in now, dropping the backpack at his feet.]

[Gold deals five cards out to Shikamaru.

[Shikamaru looks at them, then discards the five and ten of spades and the three of hearts.]

[Three cards, huh... Gold deals three new cards to Shikamaru.



Gold, meanwhile, looks over his cards, and discards two, drawing two more.]

[Not that great of a hand. But oh well - he'll play it. There's worse, plus it makes him seem less cautious. He shows his cards.]

[Gold reveals his hand.

[He makes a show of looking disappointed.] Good hand. Go again?

[Already fishing more money out of his pocket.]
