[Link is so there, watching from the sidelines at a not-entirely-safe-but-at-least-the-view-is-good distance, wearing a rather large grin and really rather wanting his own Pokemon, please.]

[Battle go - to the plaza!!

Sapphire doesn't waste a moment, having waited for the message since waking up that morning. She all but runs to the arranged location, Pokemon trailing behind her - Toro keeping pace with powerful bounds, Rono barreling along the path, and Pilo soaring overhead.]

[Gold comes from the southern path towards the plaza, having left the house. Unlike Sapphire, he wasn't in any hurry, taking his good ol' time getting there, Aitaro, Politaro, and Explotaro trailing along behind him.]

[Pilo slows and descends, landing next to Sapphire. Toro looks up as they slow to a stop, standing tall and nodding respectfully across the area at Explotaro. Gotta acknowledge the senior, man.]

You got it. [Likewise, Explotaro stands up straight and tall when he reaches Gold's side. Gotta look respectable to the juniors!]

Single battle, three Pokemon...and no aimin' for the wings! Sound fair?

Which is why Pilo suddenly pauses mid-flight, dropping suddenly out of the air to dodge that - a handy way for a bulky flyer to move quickly - and quickly opening his wings, leaning forward and aiming to Stomp the frog as he lands.

[Ohsnap! Except not, because Gold totally figured you'd pull something like that, which is why Politaro is dodging out of the way at the last second.

Now, how does one deal with a flying type? Why, by preventing them from lifting off, of course! Hope you don't mind your feets being Ice Beam'd to the ground once you land, Pilo.]
